About
Hi! I am Prisha Goyal! Also known as Prishartist
I am a deaf artist, advocate for disabilities, public speaker, and dance performer and I am from India. Growing up, I have lived in Germany, Indonesia, and now the Netherlands. When I was a little girl, I was introduced by my mother to use art as a way to express myself. It is a passion I have discovered from a very early stage in my life. I have used various media such as charcoal, pencil, acrylic, oil, printmaking, photography, and various other art forms to explore the various concepts that are influenced by my personal experiences as a deaf person as well as my passion in dance. Art has supported me as a therapeutic tool and helped me understand myself better. My work is often described as dynamic, bold, and bright, yet impactful. Additionally, I aim to create art that would be significantly influential and have a purpose that could influence someone who needs support and hope from my journey. To accomplish this, I am currently studying Bachelor of Fine Arts in the Netherlands, trying to learn and experiment with various techniques and seeing where my themes are expressed at its maximum.
I am also a public speaker and advocate for the deaf community. Along with this, I have created a public speaking forum, Voce Mea, along with my mother Ruchi Goyal at my High School in Germany in 2020. My mother and I have also spoken and performed in various platforms and seminars at my school and other places we have been to, to spread awareness about disabilities and that deaf can do anything that everyone can do. Additionally, I was also an international podcast winner in 2021.
My strength lies in my positive spirit, never give up attitude, hard work, and immense support of my family and my teachers. Both my mother and I continue to spread awareness because our motto is “I can do this” and that “I am strong no matter what the situation is”.
Just because I am deaf, doesn’t mean I am mute and every word matters.
